FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2008 _ NAVMAR Applied Sciences Corporation will join the growing list of technology and engineering firms in the WestGate @ Crane Technology Park later this year, according to Dale Ankrom, managing partner of the WestGate @ Crane Development Co., LLC. Smithville Digital, an affiliate of Smithville Telephone, Indiana’s largest privately held telecommunications company, today announced the expansion of its rural high speed fiber-optic network into Hamilton, Monroe, Lawrence, and Hendricks counties. Major moves to keep more patients on home turf
MONDAY, JULY 7, 2008 _ Nearly three-quarters of orthopedics patients in Shelby County have gone to an Indianapolis hospital to receive care. Now, Major Hospital in Shelbyville wants to keep more of those patients at home. By next June, the hospital will build a $7 million orthopedics center that will house two orthopedic surgeons. They will begin building their practices in Shelbyville next month.

Name change reflects mission
FRIDAY, JULY 4, 2008 _ Passing motorists who have viewed the white shrouded sign in front of Major Hospital have posed plenty of questions about what is happening at the hospital. During a short ceremony in the rain on Thursday, hospital, city and county officials gathered in the parking lot to unveil a new sign that says "Major Hospital MHP, a Major Health Partner." The name is part of the hospital's push to re-brand itself as "more than a hospital" by emphasizing its partnerships with other health-care businesses in the community and reminding everyone who sees the sign that the hospital is only one of the services provided by MHP.
