Tech Summit ’08 Offers Business Networking and Workshops Focused on Entrepreneurship and Innovation

INDIANAPOLIS (September 22, 2008) – Now in its eleventh year, TechPoint’s Tech Summit has undergone some major changes to address specific needs of business professionals and the Indiana economy.

“Different from years past, Tech Summit ’08 focuses on entrepreneurship and innovation,” said Brian Modiano, CFO of Cha Cha and Chairman of TechPoint. “We saw a need for more practical, hands-on learning for entrepreneurs throughout the state and we believed we were uniquely positioned to help meet that need through the new Tech Summit.”

Held on October 2, at the Indiana Convention Center, Tech Summit ’08 includes six hands-on entrepreneurial workshops, a panel discussion featuring workshop presenters, about 75 trade show exhibitors, yet to be announced keynote speakers, and numerous business networking opportunities.

The six entrepreneurial workshops for the event will be led by successful Indiana-based entrepreneurs who will deliver a wealth of information and “how-to” strategies that attendees can implement in their own businesses immediately. Topics for the workshops include:
  • Funding Sources for Entrepreneurs
  • Entrepreneurial Business Planning
  • Start-up Marketing: The Digital/Interactive Advantage
  • The Inventing & Innovation Process
  • The Bleeding Edge and Other Entrepreneurial Challenges
  • Entrepreneurial Start-up Case Study: The Software Artistry Story
“In addition to the programming, business networking is a key reason that many people attend Tech Summit every year,” said TechPoint President and CEO Jim Jay. “Hundreds of entrepreneurs and decision-makers from the tech sector are gathered together in one place for the day. The deal-making potential at Tech Summit ’08 is off the charts.”

Networking is such an integral part of Tech Summit that TechPoint even created a special networking website so that attendees could interact with each other both before and after the event. The website, TechPoint, allows users to create business profiles, connect with other attendees, interact with workshop presenters and more.
